The figure you've noticed in the top right corner of each trip on the Carbucks Mileage page represents what we refer to as the "trip value." This value signifies the mileage rates associated with each trip, which can subsequently be utilized for tax deductions. When a trip is successfully recorded, our system employs an automated calculation to determine its value, taking into account both the mileage covered and the applicable local tax rates.

In instances where a trip has not been categorized, the coin icon will appear as a dotted line, indicating its potential value. However, if a trip is classified under categories such as Business, Charity, Medical, or Moving, the coin icon transforms into a solid line. This signifies that the trip's value has been logged and can be accessed in greater detail within the "Drive Details" section under "Value Logged."

Occasionally, you might come across a '0' displayed as the trip value. This occurrence arises from our adherence to local car expense regulations when calculating mileage. It is important to consult your country's regulations on car expenses, typically available through the government taxation website. In scenarios where your mileage surpasses the maximum allowable claim for the year, the trip's value will indeed display as "0." For instance, users in Australia are typically eligible to claim up to 5,000 business kilometres of car expenses per car each year. Consequently, trips exceeding this threshold in mileage will indeed display a trip value of "0" for users who have set their mileage region to AU.
